Ease into Pride Saturday with breakfast at Wapentake
Bring a picnic to Aire Park (or The Tetley, depending on God's mood) with Grai
Every Pride Weekend needs a moment of calm in the middle of it. A chance to sit down, eat something that isn't a kebab at 2am, and remember that you actually like the people you're spending the weekend with. This is that moment.
Grai is hosting a picnic on the grass at Aire Park, the brand new green space around The Tetley, which is either a lovely spot for an afternoon in the sun or, in the event of a typically Yorkshire Saturday in July, a very wet walk to the pub. We are prepared for both outcomes. The Tetley is right there. It has a roof. We have thought this through.
Bring your own lunch. This is important. Grai is your host, not your caterer. There will be no sandwiches provided. Nobody is making you a flask of tea. Turn up with food and drinks, turn up with friends, find a patch of grass and treat the afternoon as the rare opportunity it is: daylight, fresh air, and a legitimate excuse to sit down for two hours in the middle of a four-day weekend.
